§ 11-383. Penalty.

  • (a)

    Any person violating the provisions of this article shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punishable pursuant to the provisions of G.S. 14-4.

    (b)

    Violation of this article subjects the offender to a civil penalty to be recovered by the county in a civil action in the nature of debt, if the offender does not pay the penalty within ten days after he has been cited for violation of this article.

    (c)

    This article may be enforced by an appropriate equitable remedy issued from a court of competent jurisdiction.

    (d)

    Pursuant to the authority granted in G.S. 153A-123, this article may be enforced by any one or more of the remedies specified above. Each day's continuing violation of the article is a separate and distinct offense.
